Learn how to confidently start and manage your own beehives in the Southern Highlands with hands-on, practical training designed for beginners and new beekeepers.

These courses focus on real-world beekeeping conditions in the Southern Highlands. Understanding local nectar flows and colony timing is essential for successful hive management in this region.

Led by experienced local beekeeper Darryn McKay, each session combines theory with direct hive experience so you understand not just what to do, but why it matters in the Southern Highlands environment.

You will learn how to safely inspect and manage bees in real conditions, building practical confidence working with live hives.

Courses run from mid September each year.
